We return to one of the most spectacular tracks in Formula 1 for the first time in two years – the Marina Bay Street Circuit. All the colors dance in the night race. It is about Singapore GP 2022, which takes place over 61 laps. Another thrilling point is that we head towards the final stretch of the Formula 1 season. The passion is high ahead of the show. Here are what we expect to see.
In returning to Marina Bay Street Circuit.
It was a long walk. Last Singapore Grand Prix was held in 2019. Scuderia Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel won the night race. The COVID-19 pandemic covered the following years, and plans were altered. But it will certainly have been worth the wait when the cars take to the start here again!
Singapore means the show, as no race at Marina Bay has ever been held without the greatest show through the night lights. But it’s not that all.
The Formula 1 race in Singapore is far more than just a spectacular event. It is also the place where most F1 drivers have special feelings. Singapore GP is one of the toughest challenges of the season. Here drivers have been testing their endurance. Despite the humidity, they almost exceeded the two-hour time limit due to the length of the Grand Prix.
The handling of F1 2022 cars is another problem for our favorites. A different downforce is at issue in this case. Moreover, the huge strain on the suspension is a headache for every driver on the grid.
Will Max Verstappen become two-time F1 champion in Singapore?
In short, it’s very unlikely that Verstappen will claim his second title in Formula 1 already in Singapore. There are mathematical chances, but they are only theoretical.
Verstappen won the crucial Italian Grand Prix and came to step closer on his way to winning the tittle. So, the clossest rival
Scuderia Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc finds himself with a 116-point deficit to Verstappen. There are six races remaining till the finish of the season. One of is the Sprint still trace. Therefore, there’s a total of 164 points still on the table.
Thus, to win Formula 1 championships Max Verstappen has to win Singapore GP 2022, while Leclerc has to finish nine or eight if Verstappen also sets the fastest lap. If it will happen, then Sergio Perez will celebrate his team mate’s second title in F1.
By the way, in theory Mercedes driver George Russell is also still in title contention, but it is only theoretical. Therefore, Verstappen’s victory in Singapore would end those hopes regardless. So the battle is at risk of becoming the real show at the Marina Street Circuit.
A buzz is going on at Drivers Market: earn the most points to save your spots.
In the lead-up to the Singapore Grand prix 2022, there are still questions regarding the F1 drivers market. For the 2023 season, there are only three open places in the F1 teams and seven drivers are claiming them.
It’s all about the AlphaTauri F1 team’s seat. The team confirmed Yuki Tsunoda will be staying for another season and made a point to clarify.
Pierre Gasly, the expected teammate, meanwhile, has been fighting over more than the seat in Red Bull’s younger sister. This movement is the epicenter of speculation.
After Oscar Piastri resigned from Alpine F1, the team is still looking for a driver to succeed Fernando Alonso in the 2023 season. The Spaniard confirmed the deal with Aston Martin to replace Sebastien Vettel. Pierre Gasly is the leading candidate for Alpine. The problem is that we expected another driver to replace Gasly, but things turned out differently. IndyCar racer Colton Herta hasn’t got the Super Licence and isn’t available for Gasly’s seat in AlphaTauri. Oscar Piastri will join McLarem as Lando Norris’s teammate.
Besides Nyck de Vries attracts plenty of interest. He proved he is capable of racing in Formula 1 on that occasion. Nyck de Vries replaced Alex Albon at the Italian Grand Prix 2022 and scored his first points in Formula 1.
Who will be pushing hard at the Singapore Grand Prix 2022? Gasly will be working hard to score the point and to compete for a contract with Alpine for 2023. Mick Schumacher is still without a full-time job for the upcoming season as Haas is still in discussions. Williams F1 will be a step backward for the young German driver.

Singapore GP 2022 is all about show. Night races are all about partying in a colorful mood. Marina Bay Street Circuit has a difficult layout. It will be difficult for drivers to drive the current F1 2022 cars.
Singapore GP 2022 is expected to be won by Max Verstappen, but it’s not certain that he will become F1 champion in Singapore. Charles Leclerc and George Russell still have a shot at the title, even if they are very small.
The drivers market tension is another thing to look forward to at Marina Bay. Several young and talented drivers are already vying for Formula 1 seats. Colton Herta and Nyck de Vries are among them, and to show the best to Daniel Riccirado and Mick Schumacher is their top priority this weekend. Therefore, we can expect to see a racing battle.
